Painted Trousers

Alina Zamanova

I decided that I wanted to be creative but I wasn't in the mood for work. These are a pair of trousers that I haven't really ever worn and my flatmate said I could borrow some of her fabric paint. I didn't really have a plan when I started creating them but I thought I could draw on the personal development I had done over the summer with my graffiti and finger painting and experimenting with faces... It took quite a long time but I really got into it and enjoyed it and cant wait to wear them (although even after ironing Im scared to wash them)
you cant really see the black faces but it does add space

I ended up working till quite early in the morning and my bedroom was quite dark so I had to have a torch in one hand or in my mouth so I could accurately see what I was doing

The white really topped it off... I learnt from graffiti in the summer that the white makes flames look HOT

I like the pockets... I think the simple and bright face contrast well with the flames flickering up
