So far the only sort of CV I have really had is applications for 6th form and university so pretty much everything in the CV workshop was new and important for me.
-I didn't know that there were different types of CVs; standard, skills, artist and creative
-I also have learnt that it is important to create a LinkedIn profile, not yet but after university, which I believe we have a talk on next year
-Need to keep the CV plain but make it attractive and have 'your voice' in it
I appreciate that when you make a CV you tailor it for the specific thing you are applying for but I have just created one which contains all the possible information on which I can filter through for different applications.... this is a CV which contains all of my skills in the broader sense of art...
Interview techniques
- First impressions are important!
- Smile - enthusiastic and happy
- Strong hand shake
- Confident body language
- Check your knowledge of the job and place your are applying for!
- They might ask you challenging questions to see how you respond
- Have a little introduction about yourself prepared
- Be honest!
- STAR (situation, task, action, result) for a competency based interview
